UPSIDE DOWN JOY is a thirteen week series based on the Beatitudes. Students hear how Jesus emphasized the importance of living a unique life dedicated to our Heavenly Father. Everything teachers need to organize this series is in one notebook filled with scheduling suggestions, decorating ideas, complete lesson plans and more for weekly one hour sessions.
Everyone gathers at JOY IN THE MORNING OPENING for songs, offerings and welcoming activities. Small groups visit three learning centers. JOYFUL JUBILEE BIBLE STORY CENTER is where each Beatitude is carefully studied. JUMPING FOR JOY ACTIVITY CENTER is a wonderful game time. JOY IN MY HEART SNACK/MEMORY VERSE CENTER features great food and memorization of one Beatitude.
Weekly themes include: BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT, BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, BLESSED ARE THE MEEK, BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL, BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART, BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS, BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN PERSECUTED, REJOICE AND BE GLAD, YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH, YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, SHINE ON!
Week #13 is reserved for THE JOY PARTY. Celebrate the Joy of Jesus with the entire church. Great food, music and entertainment make this the perfect conclusion to a perfect Sunday School series.
Because Jesus is the living King and we live in relationship with Him, we can abandon ourselves to the unique life Jesus describes. to the audience on the Mount of Olives, the advice He gave did not seem logical. In fact, His words seemed to be "upside down". Maybe it's time to turn our modern day world upside down too. Begin today with UPSIDE DOWN JOY!
