ALPHA AND OMEGA RAILROAD is a thirteen week Sunday School series based on Old Testament heroes from Hebrews 11, the Great Faith Chapter. Everything elementary teachers need to organize the program is included in one notebook filled with scheduling suggestions, motivational tips, decorating ideas, complete lesson plans and more for one hour weekly sessions.
Broadly graded for easy preparation, A&O features the DEPOT OPENING where everyone gathers to sing, collect offering and organize teams. Student groups rotate to three activity centers. ON TRACK BIBLE TIME is Bible story time told while sitting on silver railroad tracks. THE DINING CAR looks like a railroad car with snacks and memory verses to learn. THE CABOOSE is filled with craft supplies where small take home mementos are made.
Weekly themes include: THE A&O ENGINEER...JESUS TEACHER OF FAITH, TICKETS ONLY...ALL ABOARD FOR SALVATION, HOBO HEAVEN...EVERYBODY RIDES FREE!, REST STOP...PEACE OF GOD, ON THE ROAD AGAIN...WORKING FOR THE KINGDOM, THE TUNNEL...TRUSTING IN THE DARK, STOP/LOOK/LISTEN...OBEDIENCE, LOCOMOTIVE...FOLLOW THE LEADER, COAL CAR...FUEL, PASSENGER CAR...BRINGING OTHERS ABOARD, FREIGHT CAR BAGGAGE...SIN, THE CABOOSE...HEAVEN AT THE TAIL END OF LIFE.
Week #13 is reserved for THE WHISTLESTOP PARTY...POUNDING IN THE GOLDEN SPIKE. This is a grand celebration of the events that have taken place in Sunday School. Include the entire congregation and enjoy food, fellowship and fun.
