THE EMPTY ROOM is a thirteen week elementary Sunday School series based on Galatians 5:22-23. Students hear how Jesus demonstrated the fullness of Christian living with people He helped, stories He told and situations He changed. Everything teachers need to present the series is included in one notebook filled with scheduling suggestions, decorating tips, complete lesson plans and more for one hour weekly sessions.
The visual theme features a completely empty room which gradually fills up with comfortable furniture and a homey atmosphere. Students gather at MEET ME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL OPENING where they sing, collect offering and organize small teams. Three separate teams rotate to THE EMPTY ROOM BIBLE CENTER where Bible stories are told and the room fills from week to week. They move along to BODY AND SOUL FOOD CENTER to eat a snack and learn a scripture verse. Last stop is FULL OF SOUND MUSIC CENTER were praise and worship choruses are enthusiastically sung just for fun.
Weekly themes include: THE EMPTY ROOM...ZAC HAD IT ALL...OR SO HE THOUGHT, LOVE...TWELVE MEN WHO LOVED THE WORLD, JOY...OH HOW HAPPY I WOULD BE IF ONLY YOU COULD HELP ME SEE, PEACE...PEACE ON A STORMY NIGHT, PATIENCE...JESUS AND THE ROOFERS, KINDNESS...JESUS AND THE WILD MAN, GOODNESS...LUNCH!, FAITHFULNESS...THE FAITHFUL SERVANT, GENTLENESS...JESUS PLAYS WITH KIDS, SELF CONTROL...JESUS AND THE RICH KID, GROW!...SOW WHAT?, AND THE BEAT GOES ON...SAUL AND KING AGRIPPA.
Week #13 is reserved for ITS A HOUSE PARTY! This is a grand Sunday School celebration to complete the filling of the empty room. Students visit the room, enjoy great food and participate in fun and games.
