Students gather AT THE WELL for a Holy Land welcome. Small tribes travel to THE STORY TELLER who tells the continuing story "Nathan Finds New Life In Jerusalem" (offered separately). Students sing Israeli folk songs with THE MUSIC MAKERS. Daily adventures in THE DISCOVERY ROOM include Animal Day, Craft Day, Movie Day, Zaccheus Day (Don't miss this one!), Scribe Day and Peter and Andrew Day. The Village Innkeeper has the power to bring students back each day to enjoy a unique snack. Jewish meal customs and blessings are taught before they eat simple foods Jesus may have enjoyed at THE VILLAGE INN.
Five Village workshops represent places where students learn about the life and times of Jesus. They enjoy a Holy Land activity, memorize a scripture verse, hear a Bible story and complete a craft: THE WEAVER...Feed My Sheep. THE LEATHER SHOP...The Perfect Gift. THE CARPENTER SHOP...Believe In Jesus. THE LAMP MAKER...Let Your Light Shine. THE POTTERY SHOP...Become Clay in The Potter's Hands.
Preschoolers ages 4-5 visit MIRIAM'S PLAY SCHOOL where their teachers guide them through the same themes as older students. Nursery separate.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF A BIBLICAL KIND is our first Vacation Bible School! When our local teachers said they had "had it" with traditional VBS workbooks, discipline problems and hard work, we developed an easy way to have fun with our kids. By the middle of that first week our normal attendance of 40 raised to 100 and we literally pulled children in our Christian Education Unit windows and dressed them in costume. Leaders and parents asked, "What will you do next year?" and the rest is history. SHALOM!!!

TOOTHPICK ROAD is a five day Conley Twin story written for Close Encounters Of A Biblical Kind designed to last fifteen minutes each day. Each chapter ends at an exciting point encouraging students to return the next day and discover how yesterday's situation is resolved. The story comes complete with script and black and white line drawings suitable for coloring by the leader.
